The Coffs Harbour Bypass, due to open to traffic at the end of 2026 is the last section of the Pacific Highway to be upgraded, providing significant improvements in safety and efficiency travelling between Sydney and Brisbane.

This 14 kilometre upgrade between Boambee and Korora bypasses the Coffs Harbour CBD is comprised of four lanes of new and upgraded divided highway, three tunnels and grade separated interchanges, a new bridge crossing the railway and new bus interchange and pedestrian bridge at Kororo.

The project is carefully integrated into its environmental context with a range of sustainability measures and extensive landscaping incorporating native species to support local biodiversity.

The ‘Mountains to the Sea’ design narrative has been developed via a co-design process working with Balarinji, the Local Aboriginal Land Council and Gumbaynggirr Elders to create a strong and clear Connection to Country that is integrated across the project.
