Waterpoint New City

Waterpoint is a new waterfront city for 30,000 residents located on the Vam Co Dong River, close to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 360 hectare site will become a regional destination providing a range of residential choices, innovative business venues, educational facilities, commercial and retail facilities. The plan is organised around a series of waterways that provide a setting for recreational features, and serve to generate a strong identity for the new city that continues the narrative of waterfront settlement patterns in Vietnam.

Key elements include a harbour, canal system, golf course, sport precinct, university and cultural centre. The plan has been designed to allow for flexible staging in response to market conditions and to provide a demonstration of sustainable principles for this emerging nation.

CM+ won an international design competition for the visionary master plan for a new satellite city of 30,000 people west of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
