Pacific Highway Upgrade Road Bridge Infrastructure by CM+

CM+ has been involved since 2001 in the upgrade of the Pacific Highway along the NSW east coast to a minimum four lane divided road.

We have completed projects equivalent to approximately 50% of the route. Road safety has been greatly improved via duplication of the entire highway, with bypasses and better designed interchanges improving traffic flow. Fauna crossings and fences ensure local fauna can safely cross the highway without interacting with traffic.

The upgrade has set a benchmark for other infrastructure projects across Australia, providing improved access to coastal towns and bypassing others to ensure their character and integrity is maintained.

Urban design has been integral in the overall design of upgrade projects, including the consideration given to a contextual approach to placement of the road in the landscape, and to the driver ‘experience’.
