CM+ was the lead designer for this new city for 100,000 people near Shanghai, China.
The city provides a new interpretation of traditional water-based settlements in this region of China and provides a platform for the development of a new boating culture for the region. A full complement of residential, educational, commercial retail and recreational uses will be provided.
The centrepiece of the new city is an island precinct featuring a hotel, convention centre, entertainment precinct and a site for F1 Motorboat racing events. Dwelling types include a mix of wharf housing, terrace housing, luxury villas and high-rise towers. The plan has been designed provide flexibility for various development scenarios to unfold in response to market conditions.
