Coffs Harbour Marine Centre Precinct

CM+ is the design and project architect for refurbishment of the Coffs Harbour Marine Precinct, which includes the Maritime Operations Centre, boat storage facility, upgraded marina and foreshore.

The transformation has turned the existing Maritime Centre on the Coffs Harbour waterfront into a state-of-the-art Maritime Operations Centre for NSW Government Maritime and Emergency Services agencies.  The refurbishment adds a second storey to the existing building, and a meticulously detailed upgrade of the interior and exterior has been undertaken to make it energy efficient and compliant with current building codes and accessibility standards.

The Centre’s interior has been rationalised to improve functionality, provide modern, upgraded offices, an emergency operations facility, meeting rooms, kitchens and amenities with an outdoor covered break-out space. The contemporary design theme and colour palette reflect the project’s coastal location, and the low maintenance materials used can withstand the site’s harsh weather conditions.

CM+ led the consultant team, managing the subconsultants and provided full architectural services from the masterplan, architectural design and interior design through to project completion, including the integration of Transport for NSW graphics and an Indigenous narrative for the Maritime Operation Centre.
