CM+ provided architectural and urban design input on the Brunswick to
Yelgun Upgrade of the Pacific Highway, on the NSW North Coast.

The nine kilometres of upgraded highway traverses four distinct urban and landscape typologies. The design theme for the road corridor is inspired by the uniquely beautiful north coast setting of the road and responds to the need for a robust visual experience that would be appreciated in the few minutes it takes to travel the route.

Work has included assessing the visual and environmental impact upon the sensitive Brunswick River environs of various bridge crossing options, and ensuring that the amenity of adjoining residential and township communities is maintained. As part of this consultancy, a precinct master plan was undertaken, and concepts provided for a sensitive foreshore area, including a proposed wetlands boardwalk, parkland and children’s playground, heritage
and stormwater wetlands interpretive concepts and the adaptive reuse of a two storey restaurant building on the site.
