CM+ provided architecture, urban design, and landscape services for the Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project crossing the Clyde River as part of the John Holland Team.
Key benefits include:
- Improved freight access to the region by enabling vehicles up to 26 metres in length to cross the Clyde River.
- Replacement of the existing bridge that required continual ongoing maintenance.
- Reduced traffic delays at the Kings and Princes Highway intersection in peak periods and removal of everyday traffic delays due to the regular opening of the existing bridge.
- Reduced economic and social impacts through removal of the lift span issues and load limit of the existing bridge.
- Opening up of the northern and southern foreshore for recreational use, with provision of improved amenities.
- Incorporation of public art across the project to acknowledge the historical significance of the existing bridge and Batemans Bay region.
