As part of the NSW Government’s Urban Activation Precincts program to help tackle Sydney’s housing affordability and supply issues, 18.5 hectares of vacant and industrial land at Wentworth Point was rezoned for residential use.
CM+ was the lead designer for this Urban Activation Precinct adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park. The site will support a mix of residential, social, retail and educational uses to complement the ongoing development of this area.
Work also included design of the public domain which capitalises on the site’s continuous waterfront and parkland perimeter, drawing these features deep into the new residential fabric to provide each development parcel with a unique identity.
Key elements include:
-
a four hectare waterfront park
-
foreshore cycling and walking paths
-
primary school
-
maritime facilities
-
marina and boat club
