CM+ in collaboration with Health Projects International (HPI) was commissioned to review and update the University of Papua New Guinea Master Plan. The project’s primary objective to was to integrate the University’s School of Medicine with the neighbouring Port Moresby Public Hospital, to establish a unified health and education campus. and develop a strategic framework to guide campus growth and development over the next 30 years.

A comprehensive assessment of existing campus buildings, infrastructure and facilities was undertaken and a staged development strategy was prepared to support the School of Medicine’s long-term expansion, including the planned doubling of student intake over the next three decades.

The proposed master plan outlines an integrated campus that combines teaching, clinical, and research facilities. Future development enables collaboration between health practitioners, students, and academic staff, while strengthening the University’s capacity to serve the Port Moresby community. The master plan also includes on‑campus student and staff accommodation, as well as recreational and wellbeing facilities to support campus life.
