CM+ prepared a detailed master plan for an emerging creative arts and technology precinct in the Jing’An district of Shanghai. The plan incorporates sensitive heritage structures and connections to future metro stations into the redevelopment area along with new office, retail, residential and cultural elements. The smaller scaled heritage structures provide a finely grained urban fabric of incubator spaces as a counterpoint to the larger floor plates of commercial and retail spaces. The precinct is organised around a central green spine that links Suzhou Creek with Jing’An Sculpture Park and provides an armature that connects above ground features with below ground retail and metro concourses.
