The Ashfield Town Centre Renewal Project has been recognised by the Planning Institute of NSW, with a Commendation for Public Engagement and Community Planning (2015). CM+ prepared the Ashfield Town Centre Public Domain Master Plan, a major component. This plan set out the strategy and framework for revitalisation of Ashfield’s public domain and reactivation of the laneways behind the main street, Liverpool Road, in order to create a vibrant and renewed town centre. The Master Plan had significant input from the community and stakeholders alike to ensure the voices and views were heard throughout the design process.

The judges said,

“Ashfield Town Centre Renewal is a project that at glance looks as if it is only about the renewal of a town centre. However when considering (it) the judges found that renewal is more broadly about dealing with the cultural diversity.”
