KENSINGTON TO KINGSFORD PLANNING STRATEGY WINS MAJOR PIA AWARD

CMworking with the Randwick City Council Strategic Planning Team have won the PIA 2017 NSW  Award for Planning Excellence – Small Project on 8 November 2017, for the Kensington and Kingsford (K2K) Planning Review. Specialist input was provided by consultants Mecone and Arup Transport Planning.

David Appleby and the CMteam are to be congratulated on their comprehensive urban planning strategy for the future of Kensington and Kingsford town centres.

The award panel said that the ‘The K2K project demonstrates the effect of Randwick City Council’s Strategic Planning Team plus Conybeare Morrison (CM+) working collaboratively with the local community, aided by industry experts to plan and transform a suburban high street into a place of excellence.’

This award was preceded by the K2K International Urban Design Competition which won the Great Plan Award at the inaugural Greater Sydney Planning Awards in February 2017.
